2024 PRIMARY ELECTION BALLOT

Notice of Method of Counting Absentee Ballots

 

An Absentee Counting Board will publicly remove absentee ballots from their secrecy envelopes starting at 4 pm on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024.  Absentee ballots will be then counted, starting as early as 4 pm at the County Courthouse (located at 111 1st Street East Chester, MT), as specified in 13-15-201, MCA, by the following method: a DS200 Central Scanner and Tabulator.  Any person observing the procedures of the count must be sequestered with the counting board until the polls are closed, and is required to take the oath provided in 13-15-112(4), MCA.

Polling Place Locations

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Election Day, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 is fast approaching.  The polls will be open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Election Day.

 

The following precincts will vote at the Liberty County Senior Center, 618 East Adams in Chester: 

            Precinct #1, West Chester

            Precinct #2, North Chester

            Precinct #3, South Chester

 

Voting for Precinct #4, Joplin, will be held at the Joplin Community Hall, located at 105 2nd Street East in Joplin.

 

See this edition of the Pioneer Press (Liberty Chronicle) to view a sample ballot for the 2024 Federal Primary Election, or you may stop by the Liberty County Courthouse and pick up a copy of a sample ballot if you wish to view the ballot before voting at the polls.

 

Please remember that all voters will be required to show identification when they go to the polls to vote.

Examples of acceptable ID include:

A current photo identification showing your name, including but not limited to a driver's license, a school district or postsecondary education photo identification, a tribal photo identification, OR a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, notice of confirmation of voter registration, government check, or other government document that shows your name and current address.

ELECTION INFORMATION

The Clerk and Recorder serves as the Election Administrator for the county and conducts federal, state and local elections, except school elections. For more information about Elections and Voter Information please contact the Clerk & Recorder’s office.

Persons who wish to register and who are not presently registered may do so by requesting a form for registration by mail, in person at the Liberty County Election Office, at 111 First Street East, Chester, Montana or check out the Voter Form section below.. 

 

If you have moved, please update your registration information by filling out a new voter registration card and submitting it to the Liberty County Election Office.

To register to vote fill out the Voter registration application. Print double sided if you have the option, if not print both pages, staple together and return to the Clerk & Recorder's office.
